Cross Country started off the new season with great improvement last Friday, August 20 at the Hebron Hawks Invitational.  From when the runners took off to when they crossed the finish line, they stood firm, pushing through. The scores show each level of the team, from Junior Varsity to Elite Varsity, nailing the races with success and hard work.

Each level of the team strived to make first and beat previous times and teammates cheered them on as they neared the end of the race. Scarlett Reed, Natalie Garcia, Allie Love, Avery Kobes, Aaron Sandoval and Landon Vaughan finished in the top 10 in their respective races.  Meanwhile on the Elite Varsity Girls Team, a new record was set. Gabby Love, Elite Varsity runner,  sets a new course record, finishing at 10:54.6 for the two mile course loop.

This is an absolutely wonderful team to lead,” Coach Taylor, Head coach of the Cross Country team said. “I am so proud of each and every one of these kids. They sacrifice a lot to be their best. We are all going to keep working hard to be our best.”

As the next race approaches, the team develops mental and physical strength to pace better and get faster, determined to be ready to do their best at the meet. The Southlake Carroll Invitational, this Saturday August 28, has the team set on keeping the winning streak.
