Spring Break 2022

Spring+Break+2022

Next week marks the beginning of the end of the school year for a lot of people. But what is next week and what happens after it?

Next week students from around the world get yet another week off of school after the conclusion of the third nine weeks of school. When they return to school the week after that, they begin the 4th, and final, nine weeks of school which are always extremely busy.

The 4th nine weeks of school either feel extremely fast or very slow to most students during this time. By the end of the nine weeks, we hit exam season. Exam season can be a very stressful time for most students as these exams can either make, or break, a grade.

On top of that, another thing that can stress students out is meeting the requirements to exempt a class’s final exam. Students are allowed to exempt the amount of classes that their current grade level allows them to during the 4th nine weeks as long as they meet their teacher’s requirements for exempting which usually consists of having above an 80 in the class and having very few absences from said class.

But, before all of that comes a week long break from classes for all students to take a breather and do anything that doesn’t involve school work. Though some students may choose to get ahead during this time, most students use it to catch up on sleep, hang out with friends, and spend time with family either in or out of state. Some people use this time to take trips to Disney World with the rest of their families, some take trips to different national parks, and others stay home and spend time with their friends and family.

In my opinion, Spring Break is extremely important this year. From personal experience, I’ve been overwhelmed in school work for the past couple of weeks after missing classes for several days during the nine weeks. I will personally be using the break to spend time with friends and catch up on some much needed sleep.

Students at CHHS have had a long year. Even with the amount of days off and delays to our school system, students at CHHS still may feel overwhelmed due to the amount of work that they are receiving in the last week before the break. One more week, that’s all it is!
