Our Town
November 11, 2021
The theater department has been producing a play that was written in 1937, called Our Town. The production director, Barton Faulks, chose to put on Our Town because “the message is: ‘enjoy every moment…’ It reminds us that every moment we have is special. Enjoy it.”
Our Town takes place between 1899 and the 1930s in a small town in Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire. It tells the love story of a girl and boy, until the girl dies. After her death, she realizes that she may not have gotten everything she could have out of life.
The cast includes Anna Grigsby as Emily Webb, Hunter Rayburn as George Gibbs, Mason Bates as Dr. Gibbs, Sophi Wright as Mrs. Gibbs, Sean Vo as Joe Stoddard, Deric Marsh as Howie Newsom, Sara Volpetti as Rebecca Gibbs, J.P. Werth as Constable Warren (previously played by Guillermo Diaz), and more.
The stage and tech crew consists of Isabel Quigly as stage manager, Jillian Davis and Chris Burney as assistant stage managers, William Chen on sound, Mehreen Chowdhury on lights (David Lasch assistant lights), Kyra Shields as costume designer, and Bee Brooks and Barton Faulks as set designers.
This show was performed November 11, 12, and 13th at 7:00 p.m., lasting a little under two hours per show.
